ReViVe
So you’ve been on a Quest…You followed your creative spirit and found your dream, a career in the arts.
What do you do with the debris of the day, the excess from a sector that doesn’t centre and value the black experience within the arts? How can you continue to nurture yourself and others towards a resilient and sustainable career? One in which you remain true to yourself, respecting your gifts and limits.
ReViVe is an intergenerational artist wellbeing and networking space for black creatives exploring identity and/or wellbeing in their work. It’s a safe space where we come together to share our stories and creative journeys across generations. Learning from each other so we can reimagine our future.
A space where we benefit from taking time out to replenish, gathering tools that integrate wellness at the core of our practice. So we emerge ReViVed with a culturally enriched circle that supports our journey forward.

When: Weekly from Wednesday May 17th
Time: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Location: Theatre Deli
A boundless space of potential, belief and trust in which, over 8 sessions we will: delve into our dreams, find our voices, identify our barriers both internal and external. We will co-create a toolbox to sustain a nurturing future for ourselves and black creatives in the arts sector.
Expect a participatory, collaborative, and dynamic programme with an exciting line-up of guest facilitators across a range of disciplines.
In order to ReViVe your mind, body and creative soul, we will be using a range of exploratory arts tools like creative writing, art making, movement, storytelling and more. No experience is needed, just an open heart to allow yourself to flourish.
Here are some of the topics we’ll be covering:
- Black Arts & Cultural Practices & the shoulders we stand on
- Intergenerational wisdom within the arts sector
- Cultural heritage as a source of inspirational wellbeing
- Recognising your stress triggers
- Managing a good work/life balance
- Financial wellbeing
This is a free workshop, generously supported by ADF.
It’s a precious and valuable resource so we ask that you apply knowing that you can commit to at least 6 out of the 8 sessions. If not allow someone else to take the space.
The dream is that we build circles of intergenerational peer networks that support black creatives to thrive within the sector.
To help the work ripple out beyond the 8 sessions we ask participants to pay it forward by agreeing to host a minimum of one artist wellbeing session for their peers and future participants. You will be supported to make that happen, using tools gathered through the programme.
In the spirit of Ubuntu. We grow.
